P4P UPDATES FOR: MAY

- 05/02: Teofimo Lopez soundly defeated top-rated contender Arnold Barboza. Teofimo remains at the top of the 140 pound rankings and strengthens his position on the pound-for-pound rankings.

- Number ten rated Devin Haney defeated former titlist Jose Ramirez, keeping his ranking and getting back to winning ways in the process.

- 05/03: Canelo Alvarez, rated fourth, continued his streak of decision victories, with a rather uneventful win over now previous titlist William Scull. While the win wasn't all that impressive, Canelo is now once again undisputed world champion at 168 pounds.

- 05/04: Number two rated Naoya Inoue got off the deck to return the favor to Ramon Cardenas and ultimately win by stoppage. The win maintains Inoue's ranking and his undisputed status at 122 pounds.

HOW THE RANKINGS ARE COMPILED

1. Pound-for-pound rankings and Top Five rankings are based on the last five years of a fighter's career. For P4P rankings, championships, results, etc. will only reflect that time period.

2. Activity and high-level opposition in significant fights will be considered above almost all other factors.

3. Wins over fellow P4P fighters/Top Five fighters will also be weighed considerably.

4. At the beginning of each month, the rankings will be reassessed and moves may be made based more on overall form and what seems to make the most sense for the rankings as opposed to a specific result.

However, throughout the month, moves will be immediately made if a title change occurs, a fighter leaves the division, or a ranked fighter suffers a defeat.
